Due to delays caused by changing the general contractor of the SHARK 1 construction, respectively electing Santierul Naval Constanta for continuing the construction, SHARK Subsea Services announce the completion of the ROV-Offshore Survey support vessel SHARK 1 in the first trimester of 2012.

SHARK 1 is a DP1 vessel designed and built to carry out ROV operations and will be equipped with ultrasonic underwater survey sensors (multibeam, subbottom profiler), winch for towed sensors and a Sonardyne Ranger Pro USBL with hull-mounted transducer.

A Light Work Class ROV SEAEYE PANTHER XT will be fitted onboard. The ROV was designed to be equipped with survey sensors - multibeam Reson Multibat 7125, sidescan, pipetracker and an IXSEA OCTANS MRU. For the work tasks, the ROV is equipped with a a detachable five and six function heavy duty manipulator, along with an anvil cutter, rotary disc cutter, water jet and cleaning brush, proving itself a more compact but as powerful solution as a hydraulic work class ROV. For pipeline survey operations the Panther XT can operate with its detachable wheeled skid that adds a Port and a Starboard camera to the central high fidelity camera.A NetMC Marine video editing and eventing system ensures data quality.

With the capacities described above, the vessel will be an ideal platform for surveys and offshore construction support or pipeline and submerged structures inspection, but also for drill support or IRM.
